"On the road with Sapa"

Our first road trip with our van Sapa. The van build is still far from finished, but we already love hitting the road with our house on wheels.
The freedom, the search for a cool spot to camp, exploring new roads. We love it.
By the way, this trip is the inspiration for the creation of this website.
All our ideas are born hiking along the Socca River.

The drive in to the trailhead of the Olpererhütte is as stunning as the hike itself. The hike goes to the famous hanging bridge with a magnificent view over Schlegeisspeicher. You can choose the direct route up and down (this one can get quite busy) or hike the loop trail, which is really worth it.

This 19 km hike along the Socca river (Soska Pot) is a must when visiting Slovenia. Emerald green water, beautiful gorges, just stunning! It's a point-to-point trail. We parked our van in Bovec, hitchhiked to Trenta, and hiked back to Bovec.

Lake Bled

One of the more picturesque spots in Slovenia is Lake Bled. If you have the time also visit nearby Lake Bohinj.

Exploring the many hiking trails near Mount Triglav is just amazing. The breathtaking views over this massive mountain range in the Julian Alps are just mesmerizing.

Discovering Sarajevo

Sarajevo was a real surprise for us. We love this city. It has a cool vibe, friendly people and interesting places. For good food and good coffee, visit the old centre of the town. We learned more about the grim history of Bosnia and Herzegovina when visiting the Museum of Crimes Against Humanity and Genocide.

Off season is the way to go with this one, it can get super crowded in this national park with beautiful waterfalls, terrace pools, created by the river Krka which runs through the park.

This raw beauty is one of the last primeval forest of Europe. The thick fog covering Mt. Maglic (Misty Mountain) only adds to the mystical charm of this forest. Sujetska National Park continues over the Montenegro border in Durmitor National Park.
