Store Mosse NP, Småland
Our first experience with the stunning Swedish nature. We hiked the 12km Kävsjön runt hike, which leads you via boardwalks through beautiful forest and special types of moss. It is not allowed to camp at the visitor centre anymore, but we found a really cool camp spot close by (57.3817 - 13.9808).

Skurugata Canyon and Eksjö
A hike we really loved, combining the Skurugata canyon with a section of the Höglandsleden trail to Eksjö and back, a 30k hike in total.

Stockholm, Sweden
We actually only stayed one night in Stockholm, had a beer in bar Carmen and wandered around a bit. We saw a beautiful sunset. The next day we left for Uppsala. Only 20k from Stockholm you can find Tyresta National Park. During the day we did a nice hike here.

Höga Kustenleden, Bothnian Gulf
What a beautiful experience! We hiked the 135k Höga Kustenleden from Hornöberget in the South to Örnsköldsvik in the North. The trail is divided in 7 sections, passing through coast and forest. The trail is really well signposted. At night it could still get really cold in the tent. So as happy as we were starting on this hike, so happy we were to be back in the warmth of our Sapa! :) We parked Sapa at the High Coast Bridge, here you can park for free during your hike. From Örnsköldsvik we took the bus back to Hörnoberget.

After the hike we found this supercool camp spot near Killingsand Beach. We stayed two nights, enjoying some time to draw, staring at beautiful blue and pink skies and warming up near the fire.

We parked near the car park in Jäkkvikk and followed a part of the well marked Kungsleden. The trail runs also through Pieljekaise NP. We hiked up to the Pieljekaise cottage and hiked the same way back to the car park.se

We really looked forward hiking a part of the Kungsleden in this national park. However, bad weather conditions and still a lot of snow on the trails, decided otherwise. We started the hike, but soon it started raining and it became very misty. Together with the snow on the trails and not knowing if the ice on the (sometimes deep) streams would hold us, we decided to go back to our warm Sapa. We had a nice cup of soup. It looked so beautiful, so we really felt sad however that we couldn't finish the hike. We'll have to come back! :)

Kungsleden from Abisko to Nikkaluokta
We hiked a part of the Kungsleden from Abisko to Nikkaluokta. 108km in 4 days. The conditions were super challenging, even in June. Plowing through deep snow, sometimes sinking through the snow into icy melting water rivers, and extremely hard and cold winds. The trail leads over the Tjäktapass, covered in deep snow. Right before the pass, coming from Abisko, there is a cottage where we rested for the night. In the morning we hiked over the pass. feeling so happy when we made it.

Going back south we followed the Wilderness road! The road runs between Vilhelmina and Strömsund. Apparently the road is the place to spot wildlife. And the scenery with so many beautiful waterfalls is just breathtaking.

Dalsland, Sweden
In June all the lupines were blooming. Driving through an endless string of blooming wild lupines was magical. In this part of Sweden it is a bit harder to find a good camp spot, since there are many 'no camping' signs, but luckily we found a beautiful spot driving up into a little forest road and spotting a moose in the same time! Great supping here too.

Bohuslän Coast, Sweden
It was still a bit chilly to enjoy some beach days at the Bohuslän Coast. We spend however some sunny days on the beaches of Tylösand and Appelviken. And another on the Pärlane beach in Bohus-Malmön. The little beachtown Varberg is a nice stop, with a cool second hand shop.We bought some nice souvenirs here. We also felt it was a more difficult to find nice free camp spots in this part of Sweden. A lot of 'no camping' signs orblocked roads made us drive more inland at night to find a good place to camp. We did found a really cool spot at the tiny island Bohus-Malmön. You can take a ferry from Tullboden, it goed every half hour all year round.
